Promotional Speaking

Thursday, 23 July 2009 20:29

How many times have you cringed when you heard a speaker, business, political, or social, who is not speaking convincingly; is not able to properly promote their subject and in all honestly would have been better staying at home. More to the point, are you one of those speakers? Perhaps because when offered the opportunity to 'say your bit' you became a shrinking violet, kept your head down and avoided eye contact in the hopes you would not called to make your case? In this presentation Bob Finch, who has been involved with a group that specialises in public speaking training in the community for over 20 years, will give some useful tips on how to make your butterflies fly in formation, how to make sure that your visual aids are useful and that your message is heard by those it is aimed at. This talk is NOT about after dinner speaking, that is a completely different art. It is about ensuring that you are heard by those you get the opportunity to promote your case to, and that they do not sit cringing in their seats wishing you had stayed at home.
