Big Litigation and how to justify a big bill

On 11 November 2010 Mr Justice Hickinbottom handed down the judgment of the High Court in the claim of SBJ Global Risks v Tyser and others, in which the Claimant sought £3m in compensation. Jolyon Berry acted for Tyser, one of the defendants and will talk about how it came to be that the Judge was able to find that "...[he would] dismiss the substantive applications for damages against the defendants..." . During the talk Jolyon will discuss some wider lessons learnt and be happy to answer questions. Jolyon is a partner at Birketts LLP working from their Ipswich office. He is an employment specialist, with commercial litigation experience.
