Our Ideal Customer

Thursday, 22 May 2014 00:00

At this meeting we will return to a slightly different format where each person present stands up and tells us the about types of contacts/introductions that they would like to receive to help move their businesses forwards.  We are gradually working through the membership so this time it may be your turn to step forward and let us know what is on your mind.

Please put your thinking hats on so we can find out what each of you require – it can be as specific (focussing on the short term) or general as you wish. Think about the characteristics of your ideal client, although don't just resort to 'someone you has just won the lottery and is happy to spend lots of money with you'!

Starting and finishing: why do some people achieve what looks to others as impossible?

Thursday, 10 April 2014 00:00

Tom Boother has, on the surface, a conventional business background. He studied law at The College of Law, London, before working in the technology sector, reaching sales director and helping secure venture capital funds into a start-up within 4 years of graduating from college. However his journey has exposed him (and continues to expose him) to some distinctly non-conventional experiences which have shaped his thinking about motivation, determination and self-belief which he will share with the Business Café today.

It was when studying at the College of Law, and with no athletic ability, Tom stumbled into the bizarre world of Ultra Running. Over the last 8 years he has tested his body (and sanity) while completing some of Europe's most challenging runs. With the initial objective to complete an alpine 100 mile event Tom has now surpassed that with his longest non-stop run being 145 miles.

Starting and finishing: why do some people achieve what looks to others as impossible? Tom will give us a fresh perspective into starting and finishing (whether in work or life), however big the challenge is, using insights from the lessons he has learnt while running extreme distances.
